The Sacramento Zoo is an outdoor zoo based in William Land Park in Sacramento. It opened with forty-four animals in June of 1927. At the time, it covered about 4.2 acres and remained this way until the late 1960s, when the zoo added to its numbers. Today, it has added several attractions to its already outstanding reputation. This includes the Safari Quest, the Aquarium Quest, the Great Fun Zone , and the Timbuktu Ride. The zoo has several special attractions for those who want to learn more about nature. One of these is the Gorilla Forest. Cedar Hill State Park provides an outdoor playground and beautiful landscape. The park, which is named after a local cattle trader, is near Joe Pool Lake in south Dallas. The park is not very far from the city of Frisco. It offers miles of riding on wooded trails, as well as scenic views of the surrounding area. The park has a network of trails that go past visitor's attractions such as historical sites, park buildings, and nature scenes. Mountain Biking The park features a network of trails that start near the trailhead in the northwest corner of the park and travel south to the La Salle River  drainage. Named after the American humorist, Will Rogers, the complex is a popular tourist attraction in the area. It features a museum, amphitheater, aquarium, and more. The Thomas Jefferson Memorial is an important historical monument in the United States. It was built between 1939 and 1943 under the sponsorship of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. This recreational area is 400 acres in size and includes a lake, playgrounds, sports fields, two pools, and 18 holes of golf. There are also tennis courts, baseball diamonds, and basketball courts. For those with more of an active lifestyle, there is a golf course here. For the more serious sports enthusiast, there are other options to keep the competitive juices flowing. In addition to the recreational activities, Ascarate Park is home to a number of other attractions, including an indoor track. Ascarate Park has several different features. There are walking trails throughout the park, two lighted basketball courts, and a lighted golf course. For the water enthusiast, there is an Olympic-sized competition pool and a golf course.
