Battleship New Jersey in Philadelphia

The Battleship New Jersey is a historic vessel that was commissioned indeed in WW II and served with the Navy. She served in the Pacific, Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean. Her official name was the " USS Arizona" and was one of the first ships to be fitted with an air carrier flight deck. She served throughout the war and after the war was decommissioned and placed in reserve. In 1992, she was re renamed the " Battleship New Jersey" and was added to the National Register of Historic Places list . The purpose of the battleship New Jersey is to preserve, re-enact, and appreciate the history of her veterans and her contribution to the US Navy. Tours: The Battleship New Jersey offers a number of tours. The ship tours are open to the public and each day has different activities planned specifically for your enjoyment.
